A structured English-learning program built on My ABCs, The Bible & Me. The full A–Z journey is grouped into five teaching sections, each taught through the same five-step cycle — sound, word, sentence, conversation, and graduation — using the book's built-in translation and read-aloud to support learners in any first language.
Four Organizing Pillars
Each of the five sections emphasizes one or two of these pillars, so teachers and pastors can see exactly what kind of growth a cohort is building.
Discover who God is — His nature, His character, and His love shown in Jesus.
Build Scripture literacy — verses, stories, and the grand story of redemption.
Understand identity, value, and purpose as a person created and loved by God.
Move from knowing to doing — kindness, unity, repentance, and daily faith.
The Five-Step Cycle
Each of the five sections runs through the identical five-step cycle — moving a cohort from first sounds to confident, independent English.
Mouth-position and listening work for the key sounds in each section. Learners hear and produce the sounds before they meet the words.
The "X is for Y" pattern is drilled across the section's letters, pairing each new English word with its picture and meaning.
Sentences are read with a gloss in the learner's first language that fades out as comprehension grows — powered by the book's built-in translation.
Spoken practice using each letter's Discussion Question, turning reading into real, everyday English conversation.
A section-specific Alphabet Review checkpoint confirms mastery before the cohort advances to the next section.

The Five Teaching Sections
The 26 letters were written to tell one coherent story — from creation and identity, into the nature of God and Jesus, through God's power and our response, into daily Christian living, and finally into reflection and hope.
Origins, Scripture, Identity, and Faith
Establishes the base vocabulary and sound patterns the rest of the alphabet builds on. The shortest, most concrete words in the book — the ideal starting point for first spoken-English attempts.
| Letter | Word | Core Idea | Memory Verse |

Teaching Tip
Shortest, most concrete words in the alphabet — the ideal opening cohort for both letter-sound work and first spoken-English attempts.
The Trinity, Jesus as Savior, King, and Lamb
Carries the heaviest theological weight in the alphabet and should not be rushed. Introduces the Trinity and walks through the identity of Jesus from four angles across six letters.
| Letter | Word | Core Idea | Memory Verse |
|---|---|---|---|
G | God | God is all-knowing and three-in-one — Father, Son, Holy Spirit. | Genesis 1:1 |
H | Holy Spirit | The Holy Spirit helps us follow Jesus; God is always with us. | John 14:26 |
I | Isaiah | Isaiah told people to trust God and gave them hope. | Isaiah 9:6 |
J | Jesus | Jesus gave His life because He loves us; He is our Savior; He rose again. | John 3:16 |
K | King | Jesus is the King forever; His kingdom never ends. | Revelation 19:16 |
L | Lamb | Jesus is the Lamb of God; He gave Himself because He loves us. | John 1:29 |
God is all-knowing and three-in-one — Father, Son, Holy Spirit.
Genesis 1:1
The Holy Spirit helps us follow Jesus; God is always with us.
John 14:26
Isaiah told people to trust God and gave them hope.
Isaiah 9:6
Jesus gave His life because He loves us; He is our Savior; He rose again.
John 3:16
Jesus is the King forever; His kingdom never ends.
Revelation 19:16
Jesus is the Lamb of God; He gave Himself because He loves us.
John 1:29
Teaching Tip
Longer, abstract vocabulary ("Holy Spirit," "kingdom") meets proper nouns children may not have met. Pair each abstract word with a tappable element so learners explore "Father / Son / Holy Spirit" as separate taps — building vocabulary without overwhelming a single page.
Deliverance, Calling, Character, and Repentance
Shifts from who God is to how God acts and how people respond — six letters spanning history, theological vocabulary, and personal character.
| Letter | Word | Core Idea | Memory Verse |
|---|---|---|---|
M | Moses | Moses trusted God; God used him to lead His people out of Egypt. | Exodus 14:14 |
N | Noah | God saved Noah and his family through the ark because Noah trusted Him. | Genesis 6:22 |
O | Omnipotent | Omnipotent means God is all-powerful; nothing is impossible for Him. | Luke 1:37 |
P | Prophet | Prophets shared God's message with His people. | Jeremiah 1:7 |
Q | Quality | We do our best; our work honors God. | Colossians 3:23 |
R | Repent | Repent means turning back to God; God forgives us when we come to Him. | 1 John 1:9 |
Moses trusted God; God used him to lead His people out of Egypt.
Exodus 14:14
God saved Noah and his family through the ark because Noah trusted Him.
Genesis 6:22
Omnipotent means God is all-powerful; nothing is impossible for Him.
Luke 1:37
Prophets shared God's message with His people.
Jeremiah 1:7
We do our best; our work honors God.
Colossians 3:23
Repent means turning back to God; God forgives us when we come to Him.
1 John 1:9
Teaching Tip
Contains the alphabet's most demanding word for young readers ("Omnipotent"), deliberately paired with a plain-language definition. A great section to lean on animated, QR-code explanations rather than text alone.
Salvation Applied Daily, Unity, and Kindness
The shortest section by letter count, but pivotal — it moves the learner from learning about God to living out what they have learned, day to day.
| Letter | Word | Core Idea | Memory Verse |
|---|---|---|---|
S | Salvation | We are saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus. | Ephesians 2:8–9 |
T | Today | Every day is a gift from God; today is the day to follow Jesus. | Psalm 118:24 |
U | Unity | God wants His people to live in unity and love one another. | Ephesians 4:3 |
V | Benevolent | Benevolent means doing good for others; we help because God loves us. | Galatians 6:9 |
We are saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus.
Ephesians 2:8–9
Every day is a gift from God; today is the day to follow Jesus.
Psalm 118:24
God wants His people to live in unity and love one another.
Ephesians 4:3
Benevolent means doing good for others; we help because God loves us.
Galatians 6:9
Teaching Tip
Two multi-syllable abstract words ("Salvation," "Benevolent"). Spend extra time on the Discussion Question and Talk Together blocks — this is where spoken-English practice has the most everyday material to work with (kindness, gratitude, daily choices).
Trust in Hard Places, Self-Examination, and Hope
The closing section. Four letters that ask the learner to look inward and forward — the most reflective content in the alphabet, ending on hope rather than difficulty.
| Letter | Word | Core Idea | Memory Verse |
|---|---|---|---|
W | Wilderness | God uses the wilderness to teach us to trust Him; even in hard places, God is with us. | Isaiah 43:2 |
X | Examine | Examine your heart; ask God to help you grow. | Psalm 139:23–24 |
Y | Yahweh | Yahweh is God's holy name, revealed to Moses. | Exodus 3:14 |
Z | Zion | Zion reminds us that God prepares a home for His people. | Psalm 48:1–2 |
God uses the wilderness to teach us to trust Him; even in hard places, God is with us.
Isaiah 43:2
Examine your heart; ask God to help you grow.
Psalm 139:23–24
Yahweh is God's holy name, revealed to Moses.
Exodus 3:14
Zion reminds us that God prepares a home for His people.
Psalm 48:1–2
Teaching Tip
Closes with the Alphabet Review Page — the graduation checkpoint for the full A–Z sequence, the same mechanism used at the end of each five-step cycle, scaled up to the whole book.

Roughly 25–33 weeks — about one school year — to move a cohort through the complete alphabet at a sustainable pace. Sections build cumulatively, so vocabulary from Sections 1–2 keeps reappearing in the Discussion and Talk Together prompts of later sections, keeping earlier learning active rather than left behind.
